Home to the Lachenpas and Lachungpas, these high-altitude regions have their own traditional self-governance system called the 'Dzumsa'. It remains one of the most untouched nomadic corridors in the world.

Cultural Heritage

Experience the unique 'Dzumsa' lifestyle. The culture is a raw, hearty blend of Tibetan Buddhism and nomadic survival. While here, you are a guest of tribes that have navigated these snowy passes for centuries.

Climate & Geography

Alpine Arctic. Sub-zero temperatures are common in Lachen and Gurudongmar. Even in summer, you'll need heavy woollens. Best visited in Spring (March-May) for Rhododendrons or October-December for crystal clear views.
